Confession: A lot of the design and planning magic for my clients happens at my kitchen table, or on the floor in my living room. Whatever gets the job done, right? Having said that, I've moved all of the furniture out of my guest room (sorry, relatives!) to build myself a bright white & fresh new home office. I'm so excited to start this project, and at the moment, the room is completely empty & naked. First step for me, in any pursuit, is to visualize & focus on the important elements. In this case, it's going to be a brand new desk & some sort of ergonomic chair. Followed by an organization system and really pretty accents with a lot of color.
From left to right: I'm going to have some living elements in the room & these hanging air plants from Love 'n Fresh flowers are pretty perfect. Asking for Directions by Emily Rickard is the color palette inspiration. The gold foil art print by The Adventures Of may be the center of a gallery wall, surrounded by colorful artwork, photos of my family and friends, events I've styled, favorite comedians, and musicians. The lamp on the bottom left was from Nate Berkus for Target and I snagged two before they were discontinued. I'm hoping to find a vintage filing cabinet to recycle but this pink one from CB2 would be a good fit as well. Finally, it would be damn dreamy to have "Something good this way comes" painted on one wall... it's a favorite Jakob Dylan lyric, and is in line with the Oh Hello motto that Good Things Come to those Who Celebrate.
Where do you make your magic happen?
